An Everyday Hero is Inside Us All…. A CASA volunteer is a Court Appointed Special Advocate, who is appointed by a judge to provide consistent and caring support on behalf of an innocent child going through a tough personal legal process due to his/her parent’s or guardian’s abuse or neglect. As a CASA volunteer, you receive official training from professionals to get you familiar with the court and child welfare systems and other aspects of the case, including child development, interviewing techniques, and cultural competency. You’ll review the case to become familiar with the background, gather new data and then develop a report with your recommendation that is shared in the courtroom. How do I qualify to become a CASA volunteer?
Speak Up for a Child! There are abused and neglected children in our community that need your voice. 3rd District CASA is only a phone call away! You Can Make A Difference! Please contact us here for more information.
